In the battle to be loved...

Eating Disorder Recovery Poetry

In the battle to be loved, I tried to be pretty.

But not too pretty, for fear of attracting danger.

A constant conflict -- played out behind a mask;

Please look at me, but don't come too close.

But now, I reclaim my body.

A place where I can be myself,

No more dimming my light or conforming for you.

Me, as I am, safe in the radiance of my own love.
